Let Go of Attachment with Alan Watts, U.G Krishnamurti and Terrence Mc Kenna.

Hello Dear Readers,

The last few months have been all about letting go for me. I would love so much to be able to be present in the moment without wanting to capture it.

I got to understand that letting go is more of an attitude than an active act.

We can see it very well in children, they let the moments come and go. One moment they're laughing, then they're sad and the next moment  they are already in a different emotional state. They are just flowing with what's there right now.

Just like children, we are also carrying this ability somewhere deep inside, maybe we should try to remember it.

In this month’s talk, three people share their thoughts on this topic: Alan Watts, U.G Krishnamurti and Terrence Mc Kenna.

I hope you can enjoy the talk and it inspires you to let go more.....

Virtual hug and lots of love

 Jan

In summer there are plenty of activities to chose from. There is a music festival almost every week in Chania or around. On Finding The Recipe Of Happiness And What Conscious Crete Is All About

I have been involved with this community for around 9 months now…just enough time to give birth if this was a baby. A project like Conscious Crete is in many ways very much like having a baby: the intensity of it, the novelty, the not really knowing what to do. The only difference (or maybe not really the only one!) is that when you have a baby there are only two possible answers to the question what is it? A boy? Or a girl? I wish the answer to what Conscious Crete is all about was as simple and binary as the one above. It is not…yet I will try to bring some light into the matter. Conscious Crete is more than a Facebook Group There is no doubt in my mind that Conscious Crete is much bigger a project than a Facebook Group. Yet, for many people this statement is not clear as they tend to see only the tip of the iceberg. The Facebook Group is a very useful platform to gather likeminded people and keep them informed of the activities of the community and not a purpose in...

5 Ways Yoga Can Help You Manage Stress

With more people than ever experiencing stress and anxiety, many are turning to yoga for help. With a lineage over 5000 years old, yoga is a holistic method that aims at inner balance. Although in today’s Western society, the main focus of yoga is on its physical postures, it is through looking at the ancient yogic scriptures that we can better understand the mechanisms of stress and how yoga can h elp.   Is Yoga only about postures? The Sanskrit root of yoga is ‘yuk’ meaning to ‘yoke’, or unite. Essentially, yoga describes union. The union of the body, mind and soul.  Through this union, the yogi can see their true self, and unite with the truth of the universe. Through this union, the mind is calm. Rather than focusing solely on what happens on the yoga mat, the yogic wisdom invites us to explore how we interact with the world around us.  As it is from this interaction that stress arises, observing how we do it is often the first step towards a balanced life. ...
